PittPoint, Pittsburgh's newest online community news site, is nearly ready for public launch, but first we want to give you a sneak peek.
Please join us on Tuesday, June 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Union Project (801 N. Negley Ave., Pittsburgh) for light refreshments and to learn more about PittPoint.
What is PittPoint?
Funded through a generous Seed Award from the Sprout Fund, PittPoint, an initiative of The Public Square Project, is a new online community news site and publishing platform specifically designed for citizen journalists who are interested in telling new kinds of stories about policy-making and civic affairs in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
You report and write the story that you want to cover, and we handle the rest, including:
* Editorial Support - You will work side-by-side with a trained journalist who will assist you in reporting and writing your story. You'll even be able to collaborate with your editor online through our Virtual Reporter's Notebook.
* Access to Sources - Need a particular government document or access to a source for an interview? The PittPoint team will help you track down those sources.
* Publication - We will publish your work, including all associated audio, video, documents, and photographs, and promote your story so that it reaches a wide audience. |
