A showcase of dazzling professional theater from Mexico, Israel, the UK, Korea, Portugal, the United States and more. The theater performances will be complimented by fun hands-on cultural and educational activities in Oakland, including the free KidStage showcase of internationally-themed local talent.

This exhibition is the most important and prestigious international survey of contemporary art in North America and features paintings, sculptures, photography, works on paper, and film and video works by established and emerging international artists.

As Pittsburgh celebrates its 250th anniversary, Pittsburgh Glass Center salutes the city’s industrial past and creative future in its newest exhibition featuring the work of 31 local artists.

Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts announce the 2008 Biennial, an exhibit of contemporary art running May 3 – August 24, 2008.

Encompassing both campuses of PF/PCA, the exhibit includes two new components – a cinema program and a series of art performances. An Opening Night reception will be held on Saturday, May 3, simultaneously at both PCA in Shadyside and PF in North Oakland.

moxie DaDA presents the artwork of local artist, Randie Snow. Randie has been collecting things her entire life – a lot of them seemingly innocuous, mundane little objects with no apparent meaing. But when Snow discovered assemblage, she knew instantly why all of these things had come into her life.

Celebrating 3 years this April!

Themed "Restoring Hope" to coincide with the closing of JF&CS’s Making Hope Happen art exhibit, special guest speakers include Gideon Aronoff, President and CEO, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) and Susie Shapira, Photojournalist. Shapira will share her photographs and experiences with the Burmese refugees, both overseas in a Thailand refugee processing center and in Pittsburgh with JF&CS resettlement staff. Includes presentation of the annual Mermelstein Leadership Award.

Opeth is a Swedish heavy metal band that formed in 1990 in Stockholm. The band, which has been through several line-up changes, currently comprises Mikael Åkerfeldt (vocals/guitar), Fredrik Åkesson (guitar), Martin Mendez (bass), Martin "Axe" Axenrot (drums), and Per Wiberg (keyboards). Opeth's dominant style of music is Scandinavian death metal, however, the band combines their genre with progressive metal, progressive rock, folk, jazz, and blues, and their songs last an average of ten minutes.

Joe Lally, bassist of hardcore/indie legends Fugazi, brings his band with their new release "Nothing Is Underrated" on Dischord Records. Opening the show are power-pop band The Lampshades. Special early show, done by 9 pm.

In this delightful performance documentary he stars in his one-man show called Save it for the Stage: the Life of Reilly. (2007)

Unseen for 14 years, this haunting portrait of legendary jazz crooner and trumpeter Chet Baker weaves performance footage from the 1950s, interviews from friends and lovers, and clips from Baker’s last years.
